Topaz Studio 2 is the latest version of Topaz Labs’ image-editing software. The application can be used as an add-on or plugin to Lightroom and Photoshop.

It normally costs $99.99 which is a huge difference compared to the original version of Topaz Studio which was free. The difference between the two versions is that the new, paid version includes all the add-ons and filters; whereas the former, free version required payment for individual add-ons if you wanted to anything beyond basic edits.

The photography application can edit RAW and JPEG files. It’s non-destructive so you don’t have to worry original files being replaced.

Topaz Studio 2 is an awesome software if you like making your photos pop, adding an artistic touch, or creating a photo that looks like it was painted. You’ll also be able to make basic adjustments with it but doubt that’s what you’re looking. For more information, read my review of Topaz Studio 2.

The Creator Bundle are for photographers that want to showcase their post-editing skills to the public. It includes Topaz Studio 2, Mask AI, and Adjust AI for $149.99. This is a significant savings since the normal cost of these software combined is $279.97.

Topaz Labs Review

About 7 years ago, I started using Topaz Labs mainly as a Photoshop plugin.

Photoshop plugins was there specialty. And they worked well for the most part for me.

I enjoyed working with their creative plugins because of the amount of presets each plugin offered. This saved me time in my photography workflow where I didn’t have to adjust individual sliders to make my image aesthetic.

Any part of the creative presets that I didn’t like, I just had to adjust it. Most times I didn’t have to adjust it. What I mainly did was apply the preset then mask away any areas to keep my image appealing.

One of my favorite plugins was Topaz ReStyle. It was an awesome plugin which did color grading. Almost like an Instagram filter but before Instagram had filters.

Nowadays, Topaz Labs now focuses on AI or machine learning photography applications. Their flagship software is Topaz Studio 2 which replaces some of their previous plugins and can be used a standalone editor or plugin.

Most of their legacy plugins have been replaced by Topaz Studio 2 or their other AI apps. Unfortunately, there still isn’t a replacement for Topaz ReStyle.

Topaz Labs’ legacy plugins can still be downloaded but there isn’t any more support or updates for them.

Their latest AI software is Topaz Video Enhance AI which allows video editors to upsize their standard definition video to 4K or 8K resolution. It’s not a photography application but I do have some old videos that were recorded on my GoPro in HD. Now I can enlarge them to 4K.

Read the Topaz Video Enhance AI review for more information.
