Are you interested in earning more Aeroplan bonus points? I keep this article updated with current Aeroplan promotions, including eStore bonus point multipliers, points purchase discounts, and lucky finds with discounts on Air Canada flight redemptions for business class (it’s possible to redeem one-way long-haul business fares for under 100k Aeroplan points).
Aeroplan Points Discount for Round-Trip Business Class Flights from Toronto to Tokyo
During the summer of 2024, there are plenty of Air Canada business class round-trip flights between Toronto (YYZ) and Vancouver (YVR) for less than Aeroplan 70,000 points. Personally, I would save these points for business fares to Europe or Asia.
The flight below from Toronto to Vancouver is on a Boeing 777-200, which includes flat seats. For flights from Vancouver to Toronto, the cheapest business-class fares include a stopover. You’ll need to pay about 10,000 or 20,000 more Aeroplan Points for a direct flight. However, if you search and be patient, you should find the direct business class flight for less than 35,000 Aeroplan points (hopefully).
The Best Aeroplan eStore Promotions
Here are a few popular Aeroplan promotions on the eStore website that were emailed to me or I just found by browsing.
Aeroplan Amazon eStore Promotion
Normal Rate: 1 point per $1 spent on most items
Notable Exclusions: baby and nursery, cell phones and accessories, computers, tablets, and more
Current Spring Aeroplan Amazon eStore Promo Rate: 5 points per $1 spent on all eligible categories
Aeroplan Apple eStore Promotion
Normal Rate: 1 point per $1 spent on most items, but the latest models are exempted
Notable Exclusions: Apple Vision Pro, all Apple Vision Pro Accessories, Apple Pro Display XDR.
Unfortunately, earning Aeroplan Points is not easy when buying new Apple products. Aeroplan or Apple tend to exclude high-ticket items from the points program. They often exclude the latest release of the iPhone or MacBook models until six months after the release. New MacBook Airs tend to be included. At the time of writing this, the MacBook Air M3 is eligible for eStore Aeroplan Points.
For example, I needed to buy a new MacBook Pro 16″ by the end of 2023 for work, and I couldn’t earn points on this. Refurbished Apple products are also exempt from earning Aeroplan Points and bonus points from excluded items.
Current Aeroplan Apple eStore Promo Rate: none
Aeroplan Lululemon eStore Promotion
Normal Rate: 1 point per $1 spent on most items
Notable Exclusions: any use of coupons or corporate codes will void the Aeroplan Points
Current Aeroplan Lulelemon eStore Promo Rate: 2 points per $1 spent
Aeroplan Starbucks Promotion
The Aeroplan partnership with Starbucks is one of the easier ways to earn Aeroplan Points, even if it’s a little at a time.
However, Starbucks is expensive for most Canadians (relative to an individual’s overall purchasing power, paid time off of work, etc.) — so tread lightly. It’s more economical to buy your coffee and pastries from Tim Hortons or prepare them yourself at home. The money saved will have a higher return on investment than over-splurging at Starbucks.
But yeah, those bonus Aeroplan Points are tempting.
Anyways.
Here are the current Aeroplan promotions with Starbucks:
Link your Aeroplan and Starbucks accounts to start earning. Make a Starbucks purchase within 7 days of linking, and you’ll earn 500 bonus Aeroplan Points.
Link a TD Aeroplan Card or another eligible TD card to your Starbucks app and earn 50% more Starbucks Stars. Plus, earn 200 bonus Stars by making a purchase within 7 days of linking.
Earn 100 Aeroplan Points every time you top up $75 or more to your Starbucks app (25 points for every $50 to $74.99 loaded).
