Paul Porter and I worked on our Iceland photography this past June. Iceland is one of my favourite countries; it’s right up there with Canada and Colombia. From waterfalls, geysers, and volcanoes; to the midnight sun, icebergs, and wildlife; Iceland has so much to admire and photograph.
Why Everyone Wants to Travel to Iceland
But this Iceland photography expedition almost didn’t happen.
You see, Paul had to attend a wedding in London at the end of May. For his return to Toronto, he booked a six-day stopover in Reykjavik with Icelandair and reserved a camper van with Kuku Campers. He invited me to Iceland since the camper van sleeps two. I initially declined because I already traveled a couple times earlier this year.
About one week before Paul was to land in Iceland, I started thinking I may not get another chance to visit Iceland. The world doesn’t owe me anything and I’m not entitled to live long. I didn’t want to wait for one day to visit Iceland. There are seven days in a week and one day isn’t one of them.
I bought a Toronto Maple Leafs onesie and traveled to Keflavík International Airport in the late morning of June 3, 2015. I waited about five hours for Paul to arrive from London.
From KEF airport, we took the bus to Hafnarfjörður and picked up the camper van, and the Iceland photography adventure began.
We had our Canon 6D and Nikon D750 ready at RAW capture. The rest was some epic photos of Iceland.
That was a great trip !
