I rented a bicycle. Rode it from central Siem Reap to Angkor Enterprise to buy my three-day ticket. Then rode it to Angkor Wat the same day: never again. It took me 30 minutes to ride my bicycle to Angkor Enterprise and then another 35 minutes to Angkor Wat. All this in the heat and sometimes blazing sun depending on the clouds. I was tired to walk around Angkor Wat once … [Read more...]
Hi, I’m Vincent. Welcome to my travel blog and the adventure that is my life.
Life is too short – it can end or limit you anytime – and one shouldn’t work too much. I left my professional career in Toronto, Canada, in order to travel around the world. Of course, I’m also photographing the beautiful places I visit and the extraordinary individuals I meet.
The world is big, so I’m going to travel and make it smaller.
Did I mention I love meeting new people? The locals I meet give perspective on life and help me see the world as it is – not a corporate world of big cities with people working overtime to payoff mortgages. The travellers I meet, well, let’s just say they have some do-not-tell-my-mom stories and they’re just as interesting as the locals. I’m always humbled at how many travellers I meet that worked and saved money for a year, quit their jobs, delayed school, or ended a relationship all for the life of travel.
I walk the road less travelled, eat new foods, dance salsa (or at least I try), drink the local beers, and as Johnny Walker says, “just keep walking.” I always appreciate a bottle of Black Label.
I started this travel blog for people to follow my adventures, encourage people to travel more, offer travel advice, and help me supplement my travel expenses.
I hope you will do your part in mankind’s necessity to explore: get moving and travel. One or two-week all-inclusive vacations don’t constitute as travel or exploration; those are for tourists. Don’t be a gringo.

The journey is worth it to see orangutans in Gunung Leuser National Park. Kualanamu Airport to Bukit Lawang Go to the airport bus stop (it’s right outside and you’ll see signs). Get … [Read more...]
The Mekong River had a muddy, brown color that wasn’t transparent. On the river bank, you can see the green leaves of banana trees, large rock formations with different layers of color, and pinkish water buffaloes taking a dip. The Mekong River splits Laos and Thailand, which was evident by the respective flags posted by the villages along the shores. This was my slow boat … [Read more...]
The Chiang Mai markets are to feast over. There’s plenty of food to go around from mango sticky rice to pad Thai You may have not guessed it, but the old city is big on supplying fresh fruit smoothies. There’s at least one street vendor selling them every two-minute walk. And the markets are saturated with fruit smoothie vendors. The Chiang Mai markets also cook up crepes … [Read more...]
I travelled to Santa Cruz Island in July of 2016. The island is home to giant tortoises, great nearby diving with hammerheads at Gordon Rocks, and of course, the Charles Darwin Research Station. The video below is just a few of the highlights. https://youtu.be/OUCYTdJ8DD4 Read my guide on how to visit the Galapagos on a budget. … [Read more...]
