Gerard and I went to Pueblito Paisa one afternoon in April 2014. It’s on top of Nutibarra Hill. We took a taxi from the Black Sheep Hostel to the top for about 7,500 COP.
But I recommend using Uber instead of a taxi to get to Pueblito Paisa because I was once scammed in Colombia.
You can also get to Pueblito Paisa from the Industriales Metro Station. It’s about a 30-minute walk from the station.
From the vantage points, you can get a 360° view of Medellin: mountains, roads, buildings, metro, etc.
There was also an art/photography museum to see. The entry fee was 1,000 COP.
The place is livelier with people at night.
We left before sundown.
The messed up part was coming back costed over 10,000 COP by taxi. Gerard tried asking the taxi why it costed more for the return trip. The taxi guy responded that he was being fair and the price calculates by the meter. I’ve seen this happen a few times in Colombia where getting to a destination by taxi is cheaper than returner. It seems touristy or entertainment area taxis charge more. Anyways we ended up just paying the taxi guy what the meter showed.
I returned a few days later again to Pueblito Paisa in order to photograph the sunset and Medellin at night.
