Single men love travelling to Cuba. The main reason is to meet single Cuban women.
What is it about Cuba and its women that make single men plan multiple visits per year to Cuba? It has to do with the US Embargo and the Cuban government’s communist enslavement.
The US is Cuba’s nearest neighbour; less than 100 miles of water separate the two countries. Americans are restricted to travel there without a special permit; approximately 100% of the American population have never visited the communist country. When Americans, the most traveled people, can’t visit Cuba, then neither can all the eligible bachelors. The deficit of single American men traveling to Cuba makes it socially lucrative for single men from other countries to meet single Cuban women.
The communist politics in Cuba results in Cubans earning about 20 USD per month on average — devastatingly lower than the poverty line of G20 countries.
The US Embargo and the Cuban national average wage results in Cuban women flocking to tourist men. Tourists provide hope for a better future. A lot of Cuban women I’ve met told me they prefer tourists over Cuban men. Tourists have money; can provide more than bare necessities and a way for locals to leave the communist island. Of course there are women that are going to use tourists only for money and a way out; you need to keep your guard up. Cuba has a sex trade, illegal though, that encourages sex-tourism.
Cuban women are beautiful, but I am always cautious when I meet one because the chance of her being a jinetera (prostitute) is high. You have to weed them out.
When you walk into a club (disco) you receive celebrity-status attention from hot single Cuban women. The feeling of being popular among hot women for a single guy is awesome. What guy wouldn’t love that?
In North America and Western Europe, getting that same attention or time from a beautiful woman is minimal; let alone the amount of effort you have to put in. In Cuba, it’s the opposite. It’s easier to get attention from Cuban women. They’ll actually give you the time of day.
However, it’s not just single men traveling to Cuba; it’s also single women looking for Cuban men. This is a whole different story, but a story that is becoming more often.
